2009 Camden County Freedom Medal
Celebrating the Dream & Action of Martin Luther King, Jr.
The
Camden County Board of Freeholders is accepting nominations for the
Camden County Freedom Medal. This medal will be awarded to extraordinary
citizens of Camden County who have unselfishly contributed their time
and effort to better their community and continue Martin Luther King
Jr.'s dream of bringing people together. Please take the time to nominate
a friend, neighbor, or just someone you know who embodies the dream
and action of Martin Luther King Jr.
Criteria
for Nomination
- Exemplary
employment performance does not qualify as community
service.
- Nominees
must be an exemplary citizen who has demonstrated significant contributions
in the areas of community service and must currently
live in Camden County.
- Nominators
must submit a three hundred (300) word essay supporting
his/her nominee’s accomplishments. Please attach essay to nomination
form. Also, letters of reference and documentation (i.e., certificates
of merit, newspaper articles, etc.) may be included with the submission
of the application. Past medal recipients are not eligible.
- The Review
Committee will determine the 2008 award recipients who will be honored
at Camden County College on January 23, 2009. All applications and supporting
documents must be received by the Review Committee no later
than Friday, December 12, 2008.
- All successful
nominees will be posted on this website and notified by mail by December
19, 2008
