Our program in home horticulture addresses concerns relating to
residential lawns and gardens. Of special interest are pesticide
safety issues, the principles of integrated pest management as applied
to commercial and residential landscapes and the use and conservation
of limited resources such as water.
The Camden County Master Garderners are available Monday through
Friday from 9:00 AM -12 Noon on the Garden Helpline (856) 566-2900
to provide environmentally-sensitive solutions to lawn and garden
questions. You may also email a question to njgarden@co.camden.nj.us.
Master Gardeners are also available to speak on a number of horticultural
and environmental topics. Please call 856-566-2900 if you are interested
in requesting a speaker. Soil tests may be purchased from the office
or through the mail. Results are usually available in 2-3 weeks.
The Master Gardener program is open to the public and classes are
held each year beginnning in February. Since the program began in
1996, volunteers have contributed 4878 hours (through 12/31/98).
Valued at $12.50/hour, the Master Gardeners have contributed $60,975
to Camden County.
