Homicide
Unit:
The Homicide Unit conducts two kinds of investigations: sudden death
investigations and special investigations. Sudden death investigations
include homicides, suicides, accidental deaths, industrial fatalities,
S.I.D.S. deaths, deaths of prisoners and other institutionalized persons,
motor vehicle fatalities, and any other suspicious or unusual deaths.
Special investigations include police shootings, identification of
human remains, serious aggravated assaults where the victim may succumb
to injuries sustained, and any other assignments within the discretion
of the Prosecutor.
