CENTRAL
CAMDEN COUNTY BIKE AND MULTI-USE TRAIL PLAN
Camden
County has contracted with the Delaware Valley Regional Planning
Commission (DVRPC) to develop the Central Camden County Bicycle
and Multi-Use Trail Plan. This plan was funded in part with a 2007
Smart Growth Grant from the Association of New Jersey Environmental
Commissions.
The Plan envisions using a combination of lightly traveled streets
(identified as recommended routes), on-road bike lanes and existing
and proposed off-road trails through public open space to connect
people and places in ten Central Camden County municipalities including,
Berlin Township, Berlin Borough, Clementon, Gibbsboro, Ni-Nella,
Laurel Springs, Lindenwold, Somerdale, Stratford, and Voorhees.
The resulting network could be used by either bikers or walkers
as both a means of recreation and as a safe alternative mode of
transportation for trips to schools, parks, and shopping areas.
Should
you wish to comment on the proposed routes identified on the maps,
please email Jack Sworaski, Director Division of Environmental Affairs
at sworaski@camdencounty.com.
